Disney World Day 3- Magic Kingdom-Part 1

We arrived early (again) before the gates opened so we could catch the opening performance.  The train comes in carrying performers that included Mickey Mouse and a few other characters.  They sing and dance and it sets the stage for the rest of the day!

Once the rope dropped we began the stampede toward the Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh ride.  The waits were very short.  It is important to note that Avery did not like Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh because it was dark.  She did not like anything that was dark or that she could potentially get wet on.  She did not throw a fit, but you could tell by her body language that she was scared:-(  Again- I'm sorry Avery!

Avery and Jacy were very excited to ride the carousel (or the horsies in Jacy's case).  I was excited to see Cinderella's evil Step-Sisters and Step-Mother on the ride.  They were HILARIOUS!  The girls did not know what to think of them.  I am anxious for them to watch the movie again so they can make the connection, because it has been a while since we watched Cinderella.

Jacy and Avery just kept staring at the sisters!

Avery did smile on Winnie the Pooh in the "happy" parts- not when it stormed inside the hundred acre woods.

There was NOBODY in the circus area.  While the girls rode the Mad Tea Party with Brian (I do not do tea-cups) I scoped out that area for characters and fast-passes.  It was desserted.  We were able to do all 4 characters within 5-10 minutes TOTAL!

I quickly figured out that Avery wanted pictures by herself with every character- which I understood.  I just hope the people waiting behind us understood that it was important to her.

Jacy kept calling Donald a girl and he just laughed at her.

So I made Avery afraid of the dark...we took Jacy on Barnstormer....This is her face....Not good.  Thankfully she recovered quickly.

The new Ariel ride

ARIEL!  The characters are all SO nice.  The ones that could talk had sweet conversations with the girls.  For two girls that can talk A LOT- they were very, very shy about talking to the princesses.

Gaston!

At check-in on Monday the girls received 1st Time at Disney World pins- which Avery wore on Tuesday.  We received Happy Anniversary pins which we wore on our Anniversary- Wednesday.  I have never been wished HAPPY ANNIVERSARY so many times!  Cast Members in the restrooms, food cashiers, princesses, camera people, dancers in parades and on stilts!  It made for a very special 9-year anniversary that will not be forgotten.

Our morning plan worked out just right.  Within the first hour we rode 5 rides and met 4 characters + the 3 characters from Cinderella.  We also caught a front seat to the Street Party Parade in front of the castle- then headed on to Monsters Inc for the laugh floor.  This picture shows the girls waiting in line being silly.  Jacy got to be one of the stars of the show.  Her picture was featured and she was BOO (from the movie).  She played along quite well and started grinning and twisting wanting everyone to see her.

This only gets us to around NOON of Day 3...To be continued.

Hollywood Studios- Update

After talking with Avery today on our LONG ride I discovered that her favorite shows were
#1 The Muppets
#2 Belle
#3 Disney Junior

I thought this was great because when my parents took me to Disney World The Muppets was my favorite show and one of their favorites.

I have a picture of my Dad, brother (Jason), and me from when we went in front of this same fountain!

Disney World Day 2- Tuesday May 21, 2013

We made our plans for vacation based on suggestions from our special friends Jeff and Jessica McClanahan and their special disney helper website.  The website suggested Hollywood Studioes on Tuesday of our trip because of lower crowds.  We also followed the plan of the website and the helpful suggestions of our "at home tour guides" via text messages (The McClanahans).

We arrived at the park around 8:15 to get a good spot to WAIT and get inside.  It was worth it because look who was waiting for us!!!  Minnie Mouse!  Jacy LOVES Minnie Mouse.  So much- that we have had a Minnie Mouse inspired birthday parties for year 2 and 3!!  Jacy's first reaction- Look Mommy, she has on pink high heels- also Jacy's favorite colors- and Jacy's favorite type of shoes!

Lots of hugs and blowing kisses to Minnie before we left her.

As soon as we actually got into the park we had to sprint to the ride- Toy Story Mania.  No joke- it was comical to watch all of these people (including us) stampeding to this ride.  It was totally worth the hype!  We rode it twice.  Once while waiting and the second with our FAST PASS.  We love the Fast Pass.

WDW thinks of everything!  Brian got a Fast Pass to ride the new Aerosmith ride.  This was setup outside of the ride for kids to color while they waited for parents.  The girls enjoyed coloring

At Hollywood Studios the girls met Donald Duck, Daisey Duck, Woody & Buzz, Jake and Mickey.

One of the last attractions for us was Disney Junior.  Jacy loved this and danced along with the show.

Avery enjoyed the junior show, but I think her favorite was the Beauty and the Beast show.  She kept asking when we would see the princesses- which came on Wednesday.

Yes- it rained but we were prepapred with ponchos.  The girls were SO good about running around in the rain.  They did not complain at all.  We were so proud of how big they were and how well behaved!  Jacy only broke down once- but we figured out that they needed some lunch.

Super Trooper girls- almost 12 hours of Hollywood Studios!  It made us hopeful for the next day at Magic Kingdom. We were able to do everything that we wanted, except meet Phineas and Ferb.  Avery wanted to ride Tower of Terror- BIG mistake.  She was afraid of the dark the rest of the trip.  Sorry Avery- we should have just said NO!  I think she is finally over it, one week later.

Disney World Day 1 May 20th 2013

We decided that this was the year that we would head to Disney World!  We ended up starting our adventure on Sunday evening after graduation, driving almost to Atlanta, GA, then heading the rest of the way.  That meant arriving at our resort- The All-Music Resort- in time for swimming and to learn about the bus and everything Disney!  I must admit I was skeptical, but I am a Disney World convert!  haha

Here are some pictures from the pool that night.  We kept talking about going to the pool that had a kiddie pool next to it, because Brian and I did not want to get in that night.

After the girls had been swimming a while Jacy asked, "Where are the kitties at?  They aren't in the kitty pool."  We cracked up to realize she thought it was literally a "kitty" pool!

Spring Break

Avery's first Spring Break as a kindergartner! She was very confused. First, she had her Easter Party at school the Friday before and I attended. It was my first party. THen everyone kept saying- see you after the break...As we left the school she wanted to know who's class she would be in next year. I told her I had no idea- turns out she thought the next week she woudl start 1st grade.

The beginning of the break we did a lot of running. Doctor appointments, car repairs, cleaning the house, back to the doctor with rashes (a strep rash?) or an allergic reaction. Lots of craziness. Which was fine because it was too cold to do anything outside. However, Friday brought AMAZING weather. We loaded up the kiddos, including Karlie, and headed to Natural Bridge. We parked at the lodge and hiked the .5 miles up the bridge. Keep in mind, this was not .5 miles of flat hiking.

I don't think Brian realized how steep it would, because it was his idea that he would carry Jacy on his shoulders and it would be no problem. I have hiked that trail several times and knew it would be a big deal- thus I did not volunteer to help carry her.
